چکیده

Line source emission modelling is an important tool in control and management of vehicular exhaust emissions (VEEs) in urban environment. The US Environmental Protection Agency and many other research institutes have developed a number of line source models (LSMs) to describe temporal and spatial distribution of VEEs on roadways. Most of these models are either deterministic and/or statistical in nature. This paper presents a review of LSMs used in carrying out dispersion studies of VEEs, based on deterministic, numerical, statistical and artificial neural network techniques. The limitations associated with deterministic and statistical approach are also discussed.

The extended narrow line region in Mkn 79 II . Modelling

We present photoionization modelling of the Extended Narrow Line Region (ENLR) in Mkn 79 based on long-slit spectra presented in our previous paper (Nazarova et al. 1996). The ENLR has been modelled with two gas components: a system of high density clouds embedded in a low density gas envelope. The ENLR line fluxes have been calculated allowing for attenuation of the nuclear ionizing continuum ...

روشی جدید جهت بهینه‌سازی تصحیح اثر تضعیف پرتوهای گاما در تصویرگیری از قلب با روش SPECT

In nuclear medicine, studies of important tissues such as cardiac, the emitted photons from the cardiac before reaching the gamma detectors are attenuated and scattered by other tissues inside the thorax. Therefore, the quality and contrast of the image will be reduced. In this research, to improve the quality of cardiac images by SPECT system, the most convenient algorithms for attenuation cor...

On the Nature of BL Lac Objects

The BL Lacertae objects, or BL Lacs, have multi-wavelength continua dominated by non-thermal emission from a relativistic jet, and are characterised by a lack of optical emission lines. We find, through observations and modelling that the dominant factor in a source being called a BL Lac is the intrinsic lack of flux from the broad-line region – likely connected with a weak accretion disc – rat...

Spatial modelling of railway noise propagation

In recent decades, population growth and progress of technology have shaped large and compact urban settlements. Existence of huge transportation systems and developed urban infrastructures are among the most important properties of modern cities. In spite of prompt transit and facilitated daily activities, development of transportation systems causes many problems, including traffic, air and n...

Modelling the Extended Narrow Line Region in NGC 1068

We present photoionization models of the high excitation gas in the Extended Narrow Line Region (ENLR) of NGC 1068. The ENLR line fluxes have been calculated allowing for attenuation of the central-source ionizing continuum as a function of distance from the centre. Diffuse continuum emission from low density ENLR gas is included as an important secondary source of ionization. The observed high...
